Sic transit glorous Friday.
Shock horror ... 3 rain-free days.
One of us fell asleep this afternoon, and t'other neglected to wake it. In consequence there wasn't time for the roast taties we'd promised ourselves,to go with the prawn salad.
Quick call to one of our 4 or 5 Chinese emporia (?) and we're sorted.
Still stuck for today's offering and the ever present RICOH was lurking on the passenger seat.
Emerging from "the Narrows", on a whim I shot along the main drag with a bit of a "Tourist's eye", then got home and looked at it with a local's optics.
There is one business, in sight, which is, for want of a better word, original ... Just to the right of the clock. (Established 1793)
From left to right we have Threshers, Oxfam (Previously Timothy White's then Boots), Natwest, Barclay's bank, British Heart foundation (Previously long standing, quality, dress shop). The round, white tower is part of "Goldsmiths" in the "New" development, about 20ish years ago which saw J&J Graham (1793) shrink to about ¼ its previous size. Not too sure how long Sidney Bakewell's been there, HSBC (Formerly Midland bank), "The works" (Stationers) and, finally, Carphone warehouse. One of the latter 2 used to be one of the town's major butchers.
