The Edge of the Wold

Lines and curves

For a change of scenery Gus and I went to Jack Scout to watch the sun set this evening. I love the early evening view across Morecambe Bay at this time of year, as the low sun picks up the layers and curving creeks across the saturated mudflats. There's always a sprinkling of waders and wildfowl out there to add a little more interest. The perfect place to unwind after a busy day, and it's still warm enough to sit dry-eyed and comfortable without a coat.

Gus came to work with me today, something he's only done a few times. He's still a little uncertain about the car park, and will quickly retreat to his nest in the back of the car given a chance. Or any nest, it became apparent today. One of my colleagues had the back of her car open as she took her spaniel for a stretch of his legs, and Gus got in and sat happily and securely looking out at us.

Probably best viewed large.
