Front Steps at the Met

It's just closing time at the Metropolitan Museum of Art this afternoon, and thus even more people than usual sitting on the steps.

We saw various things this afternoon. Perhaps most interesting were miniature paintings by Imran Qureshi, a contemporary Pakistani artist who also had painted the floor of the Met's roof garden (see the brief video for an idea of what that's like). Qureshi's miniatures are inspired by "exquisitely detailed paintings by the artists who worked for the Mughal emperors (1526–1857) and other courts on the Indian subcontinent".

We saw much else but hade to go into detail--inspiring as always.
