Memorial

The stylised scrap of a letter superimposed as an engraving on granite I suppose is from an authentic letter written by a settler to his loved relative or friend. I have not yet established what the symbolism is that this alcove contains it set in a rough stone wall. Nearby is a place where a visitor to it can sit. The small area is beside the Bordertown police station and paving with inset tiles refer to the welfare of the settlers and indigenous people in the district of the Tatiara (the "good country"). A cairn-like monument of stones is a centre piece.

The small resting area affects me as a contemplative and even sad place.

POSTSCRIPT: the blip is another attempt on a square for the Square Challenge.

Further to that, I will catch up with comments likely tomorrow. My exertions in the garden have pulled a shoulder muscle slightly. I feel uncomfortable seated for any time at the computer. Until we meet again...
