New toys

I ordered a bunch of camera toys from Jessops yesterday and with free next day delivery, I have already been able to play with the pancake lens. It's a Canon EF 2.8 STM. I also got a flash gun and a battery grip.

The reason for all this splurging is that one of our most eminent professors asked me to take photographs at a celebratory dinner being held in his honour, to commemorate 30 years of research by his group. It takes place on the 14th September. The very next day I will be flying to Switzerland for a conference, so I can't get too drunk unfortunately!

Anyway, this is one of my test shots taken whilst wandering about the uni shot with my chum and fellow blipper Ciao. They were giving away free shots of lime flavoured Red Bull, so I am floating on free wings as it were.
