The Dorset Coast Express

For years I've lived by a railway line but it's in a cutting and I've never seen a steam loco actually go through the line that runs beyond our garden. I've heard them, I've seen the smoke, I've smelt the fumes and on several occasions I've actually run out of the house but have never before caught a glimpse.

Today I had the exact time written in my diary so made sure I was on the station platform ready and waiting (with a couple of dozen other saddos - look at the bridge!). A wonderful sight as it chuffed and hissed past..
