Late summer gorging

Wild fruit is just overflowing at the nature reserve this year. Wild raspberries, blackberries, sloes, elderberries and plums are all looking great and the birds should be very pleased with branches so covered in rowan berries that they are almost breaking from the trees. I've been lining up the best places for collecting really succulent blackberries, but as you see these greenbottles are also on the lookout. It took me a while to notice the flies today when I was lining up a nice shot of blackberries - they look almost as juicy as the fruit!
