Headed across to West Lothian and had lunch with my Mum. In the afternoon we began digging out information on my father's uncle (William) who, family lore has it died in a motorcycle accident in South Queensferry in 1916 - the local kids are doing research on the Commonwealth War Graves there and William is one the only grave with living ancestors in the area.

During the afternoon we dug out photos of my grandfather who served as a Captain in the Royal Army Veterinary Corps during WW1. He served in Africa however one of the photos appears to have been taken in Europe at the end of the War - we weren't aware he had served in Europe so its a bit of a mystery. The historians helping the kids with the research have promised to try and find out more about his service records - very interesting.

Photo is collection of photos, badge caps and medals of my grandfather.
