Emergency blip today, taken in the late afternoon sunshine. It is lovely to see Lenny so cosy at our gatepost.

I hoped, after laying out an arm and a leg to get my car back from the garage, this would be the end of my surprises/shocks for the day. But somehow I knew the evening would be chaos ... 6 weeks of holidays and the teenager has - almost - done one piece of homework out of 3, despite what has seemed like endless checks and questikns on progress from us both. Back to school tomorrow.

I despair ... and had better sign off before I type something I regret!
