Bargain

Spotted this in the bargain bookshop in Aberdeen today and couldn't resist buying it.

He isn't "Britain's most successful Tour de France cyclist" anymore, but he is still "the most successful Tour de France cyclist born in Britain", and he was a boyhood hero of mine.

On a few occassions, me and my pals cycled to Glasgow just so we could go on and climb the Crow Road "because Robert Millar climbs that" ... was rather ironic that us country loons would shun our local roads and endure the mega city just to go and climb a hill on its north side because Millar had done it for training.

I never got to see Robert Millar ride other than in TV highlights but he was - and remains - an inspiration for me and a generation of cyclists.
