Big Girl

We had to wait almost three months, but Madeline's "big girl" bed finally arrived today, along with a new kitchen table and a dresser/changing table for Little Sister. We now have a couch, a queen-sized box spring and mattress, and a 24-inch dining table in our front room awaiting large trash pick-up. That's in addition to the two couches, side table, coffee table, and dining table we normally keep there.

It was kind of a crazy day, taking furniture apart and putting it together, moving large pieces upstairs and downstairs, shopping for sheets and bedrails (we didn't find a bedspread we liked), but Madeline handled it all well. She was pretty darn excited all day until we tried to leave her in her new, weird room at bedtime. Then a giant meltdown ensued. I can't blame her. Seeing her baby room suddenly transformed was weird for John and I, too. It's not a baby's room anymore.
