Portrait of my Mother as a Young Woman

I got Mom to her duty as a docent at one of the historic buildings in town where all of the family (except me) have been active for many years. September is here and clubs and civic group activities are starting up again.

I finally got my car to the garage and it was a good thing because the brakes were bad. They seemed to be working fine but made a noise. Car seems to be running smoothly now -- it is 20 years old -- but I forgot to have them put the rear view mirror back on, so back in the morning.

I spent a nice afternoon and evening in my own home, doing some paperwork but mostly not doing much of anything. I needed an inside blip and thought of this portrait, which has been part of my life from the very beginning.
