But, then again . . . . .

Sunbathing.

The weather was ideal for the usual Wednesday cycle ride, we took a devious route to our lunch stop at Manor Sware, a lovely picnic spot overlooking Peebles. We picked up everybody else’s litter before we left, I despair of those who will carry fish and chips up a climb of a few hundred feet and then leave the left-overs and wrappings there.
It was on a track that we came across this dog recovering from the stresses of life. It is a golden rule of portrait photography that you ensure that the eyes are in sharp focus; while I did my best, I must state that I don’t really believe in rules when it comes to art forms.

Unfortunately, on the way home from our tea stop, one of our group collapsed. Despite the best efforts of half a dozen of us working in relays at resuscitation until the ambulance arrived, he did not survive. Our thanks go to the young lady cyclist who stopped and joined in and the passing paramedic who directed operations. Our condolences go to the family
Several of us decided that we must update our first aid credentials.

I’ve just posted yesterday’s blip. “The Greyhound.”
