Titanic Memorial
Liverpool commissioned a memorial to the heroism shown by the ships engineers who remained at their posts operating the ships electrical and pumping equipment to ensure that the ship remained afloat for as long as possible. The memorial also incorporates a tribute to mariners lost in World War I. It stands proudly on the pier Head near the site of the landing stage where once passengers for White Star and Cunard liners would have embarked for their journey to the New World.
