Culzean Castle, Ayrshire, Scotland
Culzean was the principal seat of the Kennedy Family from 1759. The castle was converted by Robert Adam for the Earl of Cassillis between 1777-1792, into a place where he could impress and entertain his guests. Sitting on the cliff tops above the Ayrshire coast, it has wonderful views over to the Isle of Arran. The National Trust look after the Castle and Country Park.
Today we have walked to the Pagoda at the Swan Pond and to the Camellia House; toured the Castle and enjoyed the extensive Walled Garden, where we found bananas growing ... outdoors in Scotland!
So many photographs, and we will definately return, so I chose the Castle for my first Culzean Blip.
My favourite National Trust Property is The Hill House.
