Leviathan
It would be possible to see this sculpture as representative of the struggle between man and nature (except that in this case nature, in the form of the whale, wins) or you could see it as the embodiment of humanity's struggle against the titanic forces of the world we live in (again humanity loses).
However, positioned outside the 'garage come studio' of a house on a small country road in Angus, it's meaning is largely overlooked. I would have thought that the rather bizarre contents of the whale's stomach would have provoked comment but I have never heard the sculpture mentioned in conversation. Before you all rush out and call the police though, the two skeletons are replicas - I think!
Today; the son went down to Glasgow to see the daughter, the man and I took a walk down by the Tay Road Bridge and this evening we went for a walk to see the aliens and this sculpture before watching Criminal Minds and drinking some fizzy white stuff.
