Home is where the heart is.
First day back on the kibbutz I spent 19 years of my life on and around ( lived in Tel Aviv for a while ) - so nice to see the look of surprise ( in a good way! ) on the faces of all the people I've met today who didn't know I would be visiting. It's good to be home. It's the Jewish New Year today so everyone is in a festive mood.
The photo is of the Arab house, the original building that the kibbutz grew around. There is still one man alive from the group that founded Zikim in 1949, but sadly he has dementia. However there is an archive of the kibbutz's history that has been set up recently so I shall be paying that a visit in due course.
