Welsh waterfall

This is the view from behind the tongue-twisting and virtually unpronounceable Sgwd yr Eira, near Ystradfellte in Powys. Sgwd (the w has a circumflex accent) is Welsh for waterfall. The water has eroded softer stone under the top of the fall, creating a deep shelf with a flat, unslippery bottom that can be used as a path, without getting wet. Ystradfellte is a pretty little village with a nice cafe where a young lass who served us taught us how to say it: something like Astrad-fechter, with a strong glottal stop and a lot of spitting.
