A short break in the sun

We went off to France today for a short visit, staying in a B&B in Mazamet, a small town near to Carcassonne. Since it was an early morning flight from Prestwick and check in to the B&B was not until after 4pm, the owners of the B&B had recommended a route through the hilltops between the two towns, stopping off at a superb Cafe de The in the village of Les Cammazes for lunch. It was an excellent choice which more or less sold purely organic food, which was full of flavour and delicious.

At one point, although it was very warm, it looked as though it might rain - but didn't. The B&B in Mazemet, owned by two English men, was more like a small hotel and I would gladly recommend it to anyone visiting the area. Built in 1934, the villa retains much of its original features and the hospitality and food are outstanding.
