True Blue

As a child living in an area of alkaline soil near London I loved the deep blue hydrangeas that my great aunt grew in Dumbarton. Now I, too, can grow blue hydrangeas.

Two of my hydrangeas succumbed to the early warm weather and subsequent late frosts that destroyed many of the flower buds, but this one is beautiful

I love the delicate markings on the little florets.
