ANIBAL, NAPO RIVER AMAZON RAINFOREST

Anibal (pronounced Anival) is a member of the Kichwa tribe, indigenous to Ecuador. Anibal acted as our local guide and took us into the secondary rainforest showing us some of the ways plants are used in cooking and medicinally.
Santiago was our main guide and also translated the bits of Spanish we didn't understand.
Ahem. Nearly all of it.
Anibal lives on one of the nearby islands, only accessible by canoe.
He then has a half an hour walk to his house.
We had a well-earned drink together after our day's walking, but Anibal had to leave in time to get home before it got dark, which is Ecuador is at the same time every day - about 6.30pm.

Thanks for sharing your knowledge and experience with us.
It was an unforgettable day .
And we saw 2 Toucans.
How fantastic is that.
