Another night out .....

..... in Bradford.

After last Friday's slightly surreal night out in Bradford, myself and Mr M decided to pay a return visit. We started of getting a bite to eat in town and then had a walk up to the Castle hotel where we had been last Friday.

This week there was a very talented young lady called Bella Gaffney playing a set but there was an unusual crowd there to watch her. Bella was playing acoustic folksy tunes but half the crowd seemed to be wearing black T-shirts leather and lots of eye liner. I asked a couple ( Theresa and Chris ) if they were there for the music and it turned out that they should have been at a rock gig over the road but the PA system was down so half the club had called over to the Castle for a cheap drink whilst it was being fixed. I got chatting to them and found out they weren't a couple but they did have a 21 year old daughter together ( they were still rocking the look though ).

Paul who owns the bar wasn't used to such a busy bar on a Friday night and ended up having to get his wife and kids over to help behind the bar. When the gig goers headed off back over the road Paul asked me if I could take a family photo for him ( blip ) and also showed me one of his records he recorded in the 80s ( he still plays gigs if you're planning a party and would like some live Bangra music ).

It's been another slightly surreal night with a lovely mix of cultures, styles and music, but with everyone getting on together. If only the world could be a bit more like the castle Hotel ....
