Noises from the SW Front

Superstition Mountains

Visited one of our branches in Apache Junction, at the base of the Superstitions. How about Apache Junction for a good southwestern name? John Wayne should have been buried there, instead of Beverly Hills.

The Superstitions are where the "Dutchman" (a miner) forgot the way back to his gold mine following a big night celebrating his strike. Supposedly, the mine is still there, waiting for someone to find it and get rich. People get lost out there every year, looking for it. If they're lucky, they're found with heat stroke.

It was "poets" day, so I knocked-off around 4:20. K and I had a couple of drinks and some appetizers at a joint near the house, and were home before 7:00pm. What an exciting life we live!
