Election Day

Today I joined with some Get Up colleagues at our local polling booth to hand out 'Independent, No-nonsense Voting Guides'. In the photo Angela is explaining the guide to Andy who lives just up the lane from us. I feel tired after two three hour sessions but I had a great day meeting folk that I know who came to vote and working with Get Up members who are enthusiastic and committed to a better democracy.

GetUp! is an independent movement that aims to build a progressive Australia and bring participation back into our democracy. It currently has a membership of 632,386 who are challenging what has become the conservative mainstream.
