Mushroom Yarn

This is the result of my first attempt to dye wool with mushrooms. I have wanted to do this for a long time, and because of the enormous quantity of mushrooms this year, I decided the time had arrived.

I don't know if the colors will show up very well since two of them are very pale, but you can see that one has a pinkish tint and the other is pale yellow. It's possible that they would be more intense if I had used more mushrooms, so I might collect more and redye them. The brown is from one variety of boletus, which is also edible. It has a nice mushroomy smell.

According to information I have read, some dark pinks, purples, and oranges can be obtained with certain types, but I have not found any of them here.
