Seed head

The alliums have almost had their day - dripping wet in the morning dew today I thought I'd take one last more image of them in their wet and bedraggled state!

Having bloomed pom-pom like all summer and attracted an incredible amount of bees and insects, a blippers' heaven in fact, they still looked interesting with the seeds dropping off the head of the flower. Fascinating to see the tiny little spikes coming from the seed head which must have held the seed on till it was ready to drop.

Having been told last night over Hubs birthday dinner of possible hare sightings therefore a possible blip by some very good friends, I rocked up and was very kindly taken round the fields surrounding their house with the stunning views over the Severn. Sure enough ..hares there were... but at a distance unfortunately far too great to be blipable. Another day....another dawn. Bigger lens!

Tilly, the sweetest of natured dogs is a tiny bit uncertain a tad aggressive towards other canine companions but couldn't fail to get on with the loveable Archie a Patterdale who is one of the cutest and gentlest dogs ever :)) I think half Tilly's problem stems on her not being able to see too clearly with her dry eye and she's a bit frightened and mistrustful. She seemed after a while to settle down and not be too worried about him but was kept on a short lead - just in case!

Hared off home to cook supper after quick tour of the veg patches and greenhouses...admiring the home grown goodies and the new kitchen currently in the making. All very impressive. Massive thank yous to the Murphy household and especially Archie for putting up with Tilly :)!
