The life & times of Jacks

Island Safari

We took a jeep safari trip which took us into roads and routes not normally accessible to cars. We had some great views and the tour guide was hilarious! He was serving us "Jungle Juice" at 9.30am - this, for the record is rum punch, a liquid that seems to flow quite freely on Barbados. Love it.

In today's blip is Andrews Sugar cane factory. This is one of 2 remaining operational sugar cane factories on the island. For sugar they need to import from other islands/ sugar producing areas and the sugar cane processed here apparently goes into the production of rum.

This factory was in an area of the island known as Scotland - not at all like Scotland but sweet to see it. The area would have housed or been the main area indentured white slaves coming to the island may have settled.

The best thing about this excursion was just an opportunity to see the various landscapes on the island. Truly stunning.
