Bring a friend

The butterflies are still out and about enjoying the September sunshine. Today they could be seen on the roof of my neighbour's house soaking up the morning sun. I found these two tortoiseshells enjoying a sunny spot on the flagstones of the patio where previously I had seen the peacock sunbathing. This one had obviously decided to bring a friend along and at one time I noticed one of them was feeding on something on the stone, so perhaps they are attracted not only by the warmth but also by some mineral that the stone exudes.
