Riding the Marches

A gloriously sunny morning for the Riding of the Marches in Edinburgh this morning.

His Lordship and I lay in wait for the horses and riders at Gilmerton as they started their journey to the Braids and beyond.
In the background the cavalcade of horses can be seen wending their way to the main road from Todhills.

This afternoon they will ride through Holyrood Park, and up the Royal Mile to finish at Kings Stables road, but with the good weather we have the tent in the car and will be making our way down the coast to spend another night having a Big Adventure.

We have stocked up on calories at the Land of Flowers with their ridiculously cheap and calorie loaded breakfast. Many times have we wondered how people could tuck into such fare as we nibbled daintily at a scone; well now we know and it was rather pleasant.
