The bridges on the Tyne at Newcastle.

''.....I cannot get to my love, if I would dee,
The water of Tyne runs between him and me,
And here must I stand with the tear in my e'e,
Both sighing and sickly, my sweetheart to see....''
The water of Tyne (traditional song)

We had a walk on the Quayside at Newcastle this morning. It was the Sunday market, and very busy. There were lots of tourists, all taking pictures of the bridges, so I joined in. This is a picture often seen, and one I never tire of seeing, of the Tyne Bridge, the Swing Bridge, the High Level Bridge, and the Metro Bridge. I was standing on the Millennium Bridge to take the picture.
The Tyne Bridge is decorated ready for the Great North Run, which takes place next Sunday.
