Scorpio-on-the-wall.
Today was an uneventful day, if you discount waking to find a scorpion running over the bedspread. :-)
I removed it, sparing it's life, as it was only small. Wee bugger was back at teatime so I'm afraid it was summarily despatched to wherever such souls go on their demise.
We spent an inordinate amount of time today swearing at the SatNav as it constantly took us along roads no better than farm tracks. Be warned, in rural italy there are hundreds of poorly maintained rural roads and if you set the navigation to “shortest” thats what you get. It cuts all possible corners, leading you into really remote spots. Places where the local yokels have never seen a tourist, despite their having two heads, not to say there is much inbreeding on farms, honest.
Went to Cortona, in Tuscany, over the foothills of the Apennines from here. Weather had deteriorated and the light was bad. Also, Cortona's architecture is pretty severe so no supper Toscana snaps.
Rain forecast for here tomorrow so we are going to Gubbio, a well preserved medieval town. Amphitheatre here we come.
Leaving you with a shot of Scorpio.
