Purple bell vine

Today's the day ....................... to get into trouble

I've had this exotic-looking plant for a couple of years now - Rhodochiton atrosanguineum - commonly known as the purple bell vine. It is native to Mexico and has these very distinctive dark purple tubular flowers protruding from a pinkish bell-shaped calyx of sepals.

It has another name too - which got the panel of Gardeners' Question Time into a lot of trouble when they were asked for advice on how to grow it by a member of the audience.

If you want to know more - have a look here ..............!
