Scary Beastie

'Scary Beasties' is my wife's term for my macro shots of insects, and this one does look like a scary beastie. I saw it feeding on over ripe brambles today. I think it's probably a bluebottle type fly, but am not sure.

Another 800gms of brambles - don't tell me they are blackberries, they're not, they're brambles. Anyway, that makes about 2kg of berries so far this autumn. Much better than usual. Must be due to the good summer.
