Just line them up!

First day in Sonoma county and we embarked upon a cycling wine tasting tour of the Russian River Valley. Frieda our guide was brilliant and very knowledgeable about the wine and area. We visited several small family wineries on the back roads, the sort you would never chance upon yourself, and thankfully the cycle trail was reasonably flat. Hook & ladder, a winery owned by a retired San Francisco fireman had some very nice reds. The Sunce winery was rather nice though, and after our tasting we got talking to the owner janae, who was very interested in our panniers that could each hold 3 bottles of wine, allowing us to make our purchases along the way! She showed us round their lovely winery and we even got a barrel tasting with some of her family who had just arrived to check out how the Pinot noir was maturing.
