Violence on West Street

It's the Hop Festival in Faversham. The first time I've experienced it. This time last year we were busily packing boxes for the move so just missed it.

It's a boozy music festival and, although it makes me sound like an old fart, I'm afraid I don't like over-amplified guitar and drums music, so I give the 'soundstages' a wide berth.

This is more to my liking. Two accordion players and eight blokes with big sticks. And bells. The dance is called (I looked this up) Adderbury Shooting and there's much bashing of sticks together in a violent manner. At the end of the dance, the stick belonging to one of the guys looked like a leek that was several weeks past its best.
