Sticky and naughty

We have a friend from New Zealand coming today
Some of my favourite memories of NZ were the home made cakes that were always on offer wherever we went, so I have made our visitor this Pear and Ginger cake as we have a glut of pears on the tree at the allotment.
It has come out unexpectedly well( yes, I have already had a bit) and in case you want to give it a whirl, the recipe from the Telegraph Magazine is just about readable. All boiled up in a saucepan and very easy- but extremely naughty.
Please forgive me for my late comments at the moment- I am trying to catch up :-)
