Pollen
Last night rain and the daytime temperature has dipped to 15°C . This morning some showers, wind but also sun and the team were at work as usual. This is the "restricted" entrance to the smallest, offspring hive. The proportion of bees bringing in pollen is higher than in the two well developed hives.
Yesterday evening learnt from MrB that there are "summer" and "winter" bees. The summer bees live about 6 weeks, while winter bees manage 6 months. Of course they are the same bees just that the summer ones are "burnt out" after just 6 weeks, while the winter bees have a much less stressful life.
