What did we do before pasta and sauce?

I remember pasta being a bit exotic when I was a child- spaghetti or macaroni.

Now it is a staple food for my children- they all eat it and love it. It is a really quick fix on a Monday ( cub and beaver night) and many other nights too to be honest!
