Coil abstract
Not much inspiration today. I started playing with shadows cast by various objects. This is a coil of marine quality steel that I use to hold down pieces of courgette in my tropical fish tank, for my two plecs (catfish) that are now about 7" long (good stuff that courgette). I used a desk light and a mirror to position and cast the shadow.
I liked this one because it has a hint of "mobius" about it. It is taken on a shiny surface and if you look carefully you can just see the reflections of the closest bits of coil to the surface (they are little splodges that are lighter than the rest of the background).
As ever, I carried on playing, and added a coloured texture, and experimented with blending modes - the result can be seen in my folio .
