Another day another conference

Back at the Salk institute. Waking in this morning I got buzzed by this globe master transport plane taking off from miramar.

Conference was relatively interesting. Again nothing of great relevance to our work, but a good insight into future of cancer therapy. Basically everyone with cancer will have their entire genome sequenced and then your specific mutations will be matched with a therapy (drug combinations, chemo, radiotherapy) to help improve your chances of remission.

Also an interesting talk saying that there will be the next generation of scientists starting companies from their dorm rooms or garages a la Facebook, google etc as there is a lot of free data sitting around on the Internet for anyone to use and you can pay a few $1000 for someone to do your experiment to prove if your data mining and computer modeling are correct.

Home for a run with the wife and babe, then to the airport to pick up mum who flew in premium economy due to a free upgrade.

Then to watch the chargers typically throw away a 21 point lead with a series of comical and stupid errors to lose 31-28. Great stuff.....
