Lichfield Cathedral

In Lichfield for a lovely lunch long overdue.

After the eating, took a stroll around the Cathedral. It's a very beautiful building. The windows in the apse at the east end are plain glass, so everything is very bright and airy. A high-key kind of high church.

This was a brief afternoon of respite from being in Bristol; I managed to leave the timebombs ticking in my email inbox, at least until I got on the train to go home. Even when (as now) there is a bucketload of crap going down at work, I find places like this to be very calming.

I wish I could spend more afternoons like this one, I really really do.
