marché provençal

In to Nyons this morning for the market. We bought pigs' feet (well, Pierre's mum did!), garlic, bread, spring onions and peaches.

Ate lunch in the restaurant in the arcade...the name of which I can never remember.

Got back and it was raining in Les Pilles. Nevertheless, Pierre's mum, Annie, and I went foraging for snails. She had already been out that morning and gathered a few but given that it was raining again, we knew we could get some more. We came back with two plastic bags' worth - another 30 or so snails!

Pierre and his dad, Daniel, had been doing wee jobs about the house whilst we were out snail hunting, so we were all hungry by tea time.

I had baked spelt soda bread that morning which we had with cream cheese and smoked salmon for our starter. We then had a lovely tableful of different dishes for main - pigs' feet (!!!), beetroot from the garden in vinaigrette, potato salad, tomatoes (from the garden too), and various other bits and pieces. More cake for afters.

Here are a few more pics from the market this morning.
