Up-cycling
I managed to squeeze in a couple more visits to artists taking part in the Perthshire Open Studios today and loved the original horse paintings of this lady. However, they were beyond my purse, so had to settle for this up-cycled slate fragment and a clever piece of découpage. I like the uneven shape of the old roof tile and the monochrome tones of the horse.
Unexpected visitors this afternoon after a phone call from some friends of friends (whom we had met just once before). They were holidaying in the area and could they pop in to say hello? Of course I said yes, although I'm not too good with strangers, but they were absolutely delightful and we really enjoyed their company. I'm not sure I would have had the courage to do the same thing!
