La Peste
Things got off to a great start this morning when Thom could barely get himself out of bed he was feeling so ill. Some illness that has been brewing for some time decided to erupt overnight, leaving him in not a very good state. I was all set to do Kids Club on my own so he could get some rest, when too many children turned up for me to be able to legally do it on my own. Cue Thom getting out of bed looking like death to come and help me. The activity for the day was not too taxing thank goodness, as we had already created the plan and tea-stained and burnt (by Thom!) sheet with all the objects needed for our scavenger hunt. For some lucky reason this somehow took about two hours to do! Sometimes things just work in your favour…
The afternoon was spent with Thom in bed while I tried to tidy reception and sort the linen from the weekend. I spotted this little creature inside while I was busy doing, and took a photograph of it before setting it free…does anyone know what it is?
Fortunately the rest had done Thom good, and I was surprised by some absolutely beautiful flowers later on that day (lucky lady!). Our luck held later on that evening as we were doing visits…admittedly we didn’t manage to visit the entire site because we both chat too much, but we did then stay up on one family’s decking with four other families until 2am drinking port and watching the meteor shower. Sometimes you just have to look up at the sky on a clear night in the middle of the countryside with no light around just to realise how insignificant you really are in this whole massive universe plan thing.
