Face of Wigan

I spent a lovely day with my family in Wigan today, and took 5 minutes to dash to the town centre and blip this sculpture. It was blipped by NLN about a year ago and she said more than I possibly could about the sculpture and artist, Rick Kirby.

We had a great pub lunch at the Windmill in Parbold. The pub is next to an old windmill on the side of the Leeds and Liverpool Canal in a picturesque little village. Then we visited a farm that is now a craft centre, bought some hand-made glass, drank coffee and ate blueberry and cheesecake muffins - scrummy! But best of all was seeing everyone :-))
