CURVE AT FIVE: NEW PHOTOGRAPHY EXHIBITION CELEBRATING 5 YEARS OF CURVE PRODUCTIONS
Various Artists Curated by Pamela Raith
Curve Foyer Gallery
5th September 2013 – 12th January 2014
A specially commissioned photography exhibition celebrating the first five years of Curve Productions, showcasing the range of Curve’s work as one of the UK’s leading producing theatres. The exhibition features imagery from our opening production, Lift Off (2008) through to the most recent Curve Community Production of Sweeney Todd. All the images exhibited are Lustre Archival Print.
The exhibition is curated by Leicester-based theatre production photographer, Pamela Raith. Originally from Scotland, Pamela relocated to Leicester and started working at Curve’s Ticket Office after graduating from Northumbria University. She then began her theatrical photography career when she captured the rehearsal photography for Curve’s production of The King and I.
Since then, Pamela’s career has flourished; working with Artistic Director, Paul Kerryson to shoot Curve’s productions including 42nd Street, Gypsy, Hello, Dolly!, and Piaf. Pamela is now one of the UK’s most up-and-coming young production photographers and now regularly works with prestigious organisations including The Globe and The National Theatre, as well as working at the 2013 Olivier Awards.
Pamela commented:
The photographs included in the exhibition are just a snapshot of the breath-taking theatre Curve has presented in its first five years and I hope visitors will enjoy reminiscing about the fabulous shows they have seen here. Leicester should be proud to have such a world-class producing theatre on its doorstep."
