Wow factor!!

I had a great day out yesterday with the local 'fine art' society I belong to-doesn't that sound posh!! We had a tour of Lords cricket ground-the long room and bar, the dressing room-sadly minus the players-and some of it's art collection and then we went to the Wallace Collection which is housed in Hertford House in Manchester Square, London.

The collection was started by the 1st Marquess of Hertford in the 1760's and the 2nd, 3rd and 4th Marquesses carried on! This is a small snuff box and one of several in the case that 'glittered'! The 'Laughing Cavalier' is just one of an amazing collection of paintings hanging in the fabulous rooms of this house and as entry is free I can feel further visits coming on because it was impossible to see everything in the limited time we had.
