A Pinch of Sand

This pinch of sand at x40 through the microscope comes from Dog Bay on the west coast of Ireland, this sample was given to me by my cousin Dan ( DANNYS TEDDY on blip) it contains lots of small shells called foraminifera. Most of the buildings in Paris are constructed of limestone that is composed chiefly of foraminifera shells known as miliolida.
