Castell Coch

I took daughter to college again today, I wish her flippin free bus pass would hurry up and arrive!!!! Anyway, she only had one 2 hour lesson today, so thought it pointless to go all the way back home, only having to go back again two hours later. So decided to stay in the locality of the college.
This is the beautiful Castell Coch which is only a 5 minute drive away from the college, just above the village of Tongwynlais. As you can see it is indeed a very beautiful castle and definitely worth a visit if you're in the area. The inside is just as spectacular, as you can see from some of the photos on the web page.
It has been used as film locations for various programmes such as Dr Who and Merlin and you can get married there too.
Just inside the castle gates is a lovely little tea room called The Bakestone and I had to go in for a cuppa because they sell yummy homemade cakes. I enjoyed a date and walnut welshcake!
