Journey Day 8

Dunes - Big dunes, 40 miles of dunes that are somewhere around a mile wide - I am up on top of one of the mountain sized ones - fun to climb and sort of "ski" or dance down. I have some lovely grasses too and almost chose one but this gives a sense of the bigness. And again this plays into all this geology, all this sand coming from the volcanoes, down the rivers, into the ocean and tossed back up - simplistic I know for a process far more complex!

Highlights
1. Up in the dark and on the road in the dark and did not forget a single thing which can be a trick in a van where stuff has to be shifted every night to make sleep space.
2. Arriving on the coast, getting into a great campground, WITH SHOWERS, and these amazing dunes.
3. Great night's sleep!
